This kitchen image shows how handmade copper can become the main architectural feature in a room. The copper range hood, cream cabinets, tile backsplash, wood beams, stone counter, and warm lighting create a clear example of why copper is often chosen as a focal material.

Why This Custom Copper Blog Exists

Custom copper products require more planning than standard factory fixtures.

A buyer may need to choose size, finish, texture, mount type, ventilation equipment, drain location, countertop style, tub shape, mirror dimensions, or table base design before production begins.

Guidance Before Ordering

This blog was created to answer practical questions before a customer places an order.

The more clearly a project is planned, the better the finished copper product can fit the room, the installation conditions, and the customer’s design expectations.

Handmade Copper Products for the Home

Handmade copper can be used in kitchens, bathrooms, dining rooms, powder rooms, entryways, covered patios, and custom interior spaces.

It works as both a functional material and a decorative surface because it brings warmth, patina, reflection, depth, and artisan character.

Core Product Categories

The main custom copper categories include range hoods, kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, bathtubs, dining tables, mirrors, tabletops, and custom architectural details.

Each product category has its own measurements, installation requirements, care needs, and finish expectations.

Custom Copper Range Hoods

A custom copper range hood can transform the cooking wall or island.

The custom copper range hoods collection includes wall-mount, island, and under-cabinet designs with hammered or smooth copper, standard 30, 36, 48, and 60 inch widths, and custom sizing.

Why Range Hoods Need Planning

A hood is both visual and technical.

The copper shell defines the style, while the insert, blower, filters, lights, ductwork, controls, electrical access, and service access determine how the hood performs.

Range Hood Style Options

Copper hoods can be Spanish Revival, Hacienda, farmhouse, rustic, transitional, modern, industrial, riveted, strapped, smooth, hammered, curved, tapered, or minimalist.

The selected style should match the cabinet layout, backsplash material, ceiling height, range size, and overall architecture of the kitchen.

Product Example

The Spanish Revival Hammered Copper Kitchen Range Hood is a strong example of a handcrafted hood with a bell-shaped body, hammered surface, flared canopy, rectangular chimney, defined crown, and wide apron band.

It works especially well in kitchens with plaster, tile, stone, wood beams, warm cabinets, bronze fixtures, and old-world materials.

Ventilation and Insert Options

A copper range hood should be treated as a handmade shell plus a working ventilation assembly.

The standard configuration includes an economy 200 CFM insert. Stronger inserts are not sold as standard upgrades because cooking equipment, duct routes, clearances, cabinet layouts, and local requirements vary by kitchen.

Buyer-Supplied Ventilation Systems

The hood shell can be prepared for a buyer-supplied internal insert up to 1200 CFM or a buyer-supplied external blower system up to 1500 CFM when compatible specifications are provided before production.

Interior preparation can be included when full ventilation specifications are reviewed and approved before fabrication.

Insert Compatibility Requirements

Before production, provide the insert manufacturer, model, complete specification sheet, overall dimensions, cutout dimensions, duct diameter, discharge location, control placement, lighting, filter access, electrical requirements, and service clearances.

The insert should generally be approximately six inches smaller than the hood in width and depth, subject to technical review.

Service Access Matters

Filters, lights, controls, wiring, fasteners, grease trays, and removable components must remain accessible after installation.

For deeper technical guidance, the article on a custom copper hood with insert explains why the shell and ventilation equipment should be reviewed together.

Custom Copper Kitchen Sinks

Copper kitchen sinks are practical daily fixtures that also add visible warmth to the kitchen.

The custom copper kitchen sinks collection includes farmhouse apron front, undermount, drop-in, workstation, bar, prep, single bowl, and double bowl designs.

Kitchen Sink Decisions

Before choosing a sink, confirm cabinet width, counter depth, bowl layout, drain location, faucet placement, disposal needs, dishwasher connection, countertop material, and daily workflow.

Common copper kitchen sink sizes include 24, 28, 33, 36, and 42 inches, depending on the model and project requirements.

Farmhouse Apron Copper Sinks

A farmhouse apron copper sink exposes the front face of the basin, making the sink part of the kitchen architecture.

The Custom Made Apron Front Single Bowl Copper Kitchen Sink is a strong choice when the kitchen needs one warm focal point with a deep uninterrupted basin.

Single or Double Bowl

Single bowl sinks provide open space for large cookware, trays, pitchers, and food prep.

Double bowl sinks support task separation, such as rinsing on one side and soaking or washing on the other.

This farmhouse kitchen image shows how a copper sink can become a visible design feature. The apron front, black faucet, cream cabinets, stone counter, and rustic backsplash show how a functional sink can also anchor the room.

Copper Bathroom Sinks

Copper bathroom sinks add artisan warmth to vanities, powder rooms, guest baths, and primary bathrooms.

The copper bathroom sinks collection includes vessel, undermount, and drop-in styles in round, oval, and rectangular shapes.

Bathroom Sink Planning

Choose a bathroom sink by vanity width, countertop space, faucet type, bowl depth, splash control, drain opening, and P-trap clearance.

Hammered, smooth, decorative relief, floral, braided, Aztec-inspired, oval, round, compact, and custom designs can each create a different vanity effect.

Copper Bathtubs

Copper bathtubs bring warmth, soaking comfort, and sculptural character into the bathroom.

The custom copper bathtubs collection includes freestanding, alcove, drop-in, and undermount styles made from solid copper.

Why Copper Works for Soaking

Copper is valued for excellent heat retention, helping bathwater stay warm during longer soaks.

It also develops a living patina that gives the bathroom a warmer, more personal feeling than many standard white bathtub materials.

Freestanding Copper Bathtubs

A freestanding copper bathtub becomes a centerpiece, especially when it is visible from several directions.

The Freestanding Double Slipper Hammered Copper Bathtub is suited for bathrooms that need a raised-end silhouette, rolled rim, hand-hammered surface, and warm patina.

Bathtub Planning Details

Before ordering a tub, confirm length, width, height, soaking depth, drain location, overflow needs, faucet type, floor support, delivery path, and installation method.

For more selection guidance, the article on custom copper soaking tubs explains shape, finish, faucet planning, and care.

Copper Dining Tables

Copper dining tables bring handmade metalwork into dining rooms, breakfast spaces, eat-in kitchens, covered patios, and hospitality interiors.

The copper dining tables collection includes copper-covered tabletops paired with traditional wrought iron bases.

Dining Table Planning

Before choosing a table, confirm room size, table shape, seating count, chair width, table height, base design, walking clearance, lighting position, and intended use.

Round copper tables encourage conversation, while square copper tables create a grounded and balanced layout.

Copper Mirrors

Copper mirrors are useful when a room needs warmth without replacing plumbing, cabinetry, or major fixtures.

The custom copper mirrors collection includes round, rectangular, square, and arched silhouettes in hammered or smooth textures.

Mirror Placement

Copper mirrors work well in bathrooms, entryways, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, hallways, and living spaces.

Choose size and shape around vanity width, console width, wall height, lighting, hanging orientation, glass type, hardware load, and surrounding materials.

Choosing Copper Patina

Patina controls the mood of every copper product.

Natural copper feels brighter and more energetic. Honey tones feel golden and warm. Coffee, antique, and darker patinas create deeper old-world character.

Living Finish Expectations

Copper is a living material.

Heat, water, humidity, cooking oils, bath products, sunlight, touch, cleaning habits, and daily use can all influence the finish over time.

Hammered vs Smooth Copper

Hammered copper adds texture, shadow, and artisan movement.

It works well in rustic, Hacienda, Spanish Revival, Mediterranean, Tuscan, farmhouse, ranch, lodge, and old-world interiors.

When Smooth Copper Works Better

Smooth copper feels cleaner and more architectural.

It can be better for modern, transitional, minimalist, and spa-inspired spaces where shape and patina should lead the design.

Custom Sizing and Made-to-Order Planning

Custom copper products are valuable because they can be planned around the actual project.

Made-to-order work can support unusual range widths, custom cabinet openings, vanity dimensions, tub footprints, table bases, mirror walls, and special architectural details.

Information to Provide

Before production, provide measurements, photos, drawings, appliance specifications, insert manuals, countertop plans, plumbing rough-ins, wall conditions, ceiling height, and finish preferences when applicable.

Clear project information helps reduce mistakes and supports better custom fabrication.

How to Use the Blog for Product Selection

This blog should help buyers compare options before ordering.

Use category articles to understand product families, then use detailed posts to compare mount type, shape, finish, texture, size, care, ventilation, and installation needs.

Start with the Room

The best product choice begins with the room.

A kitchen may need a hood and sink. A bathroom may need a tub, sink, and mirror. A dining area may need a copper table or replacement tabletop.

Room-by-Room Copper Design

Copper should feel intentional, not random.

One large copper piece can create enough impact. Multiple copper pieces can work when the finishes share warmth and the rest of the room stays balanced.

Do Not Overload the Space

If the range hood is large and decorative, use a simpler sink.

If the copper tub is dramatic, choose a calmer vanity sink or mirror so the bathroom remains comfortable.

Materials That Pair Well with Copper

Copper pairs naturally with stone, tile, wood, plaster, brick, marble, limestone, terracotta, wrought iron, bronze, brass, black hardware, and warm neutral paint.

It can also soften stainless steel, white cabinetry, glass, quartz, concrete, and modern surfaces.

Style Applications

Copper works in Spanish Revival, Hacienda, Mediterranean, Tuscan, farmhouse, ranch, lodge, rustic, Southwestern, Mission Revival, modern rustic, transitional, and warm contemporary interiors.

The final look depends on shape, patina, texture, surrounding materials, lighting, and room proportion.

Care and Maintenance Basics

Clean copper with mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth.

Dry sinks, tubs, tabletops, and hoods after cleaning when possible to reduce water spots, mineral marks, residue, and uneven patina movement.

Products to Avoid

Avoid bleach, ammonia, harsh acids, abrasive pads, steel wool, aggressive degreasers, harsh bathroom cleaners, and metal polish.

These products can disturb patina, scratch the surface, or create uneven bright and dark marks.

Care by Product Category

Kitchen sinks should be rinsed and dried regularly.

Range hood copper shells need gentle wiping, while filters and mechanical insert parts should be maintained according to the insert manufacturer’s instructions.

Tubs, Tables, and Mirrors

Copper tubs should be rinsed after bathing.

Copper tables benefit from coasters, placemats, trivets, and quick cleanup. Copper mirror frames should be dusted softly, and glass cleaner should be sprayed onto the cloth, not onto the frame.

Handmade Variation and Expectations

Handmade copper products may show slight variation in tone, patina, hammering, curvature, seams, rim details, dimensions, and surface movement.

This variation is part of the artisan value and should be expected.

Lifestyle Images as Inspiration

Lifestyle images are useful for design direction, but the finished product should follow the selected item, size, finish, texture, installation method, and confirmed specifications.

Lighting, surrounding materials, wall color, cabinetry, flooring, hardware, and natural light can change how copper appears after installation.

Planning a Custom Copper Order

A successful custom order begins with product type, room use, measurements, finish preference, texture, installation conditions, and any technical requirements.

For hoods, provide insert details. For sinks, confirm cabinet and countertop information. For tubs, confirm plumbing and delivery path. For tables and mirrors, confirm size, support, and placement.

Use the Contact Form

For custom dimensions, finish guidance, ventilation review, sink planning, tub planning, mirror sizing, table details, or general project questions, use the custom copper contact form before production begins.

I used Custom Copper site already on two occasions. I am a contractor and I found this company easy to work with especially when dealing with made to order range hoods and kitchen sinks. Their craftsmanship of hammering copper is extraordinary. The only drawback their production facility is located in Mexico and it takes some time to deliver. Still, copper range hood prices are good and they offer free shipping.
